Rape of female Falun Gong practitioners by police in Hebei China
(Dec. 23, 2005)Back in 2002 in China,I watched several news and educational editorials in Chinese TV programs which depicted Falun Gong as something wrong,destructive and evil.
I still vividly remember one scene in one program in which one Falun Gong member mercilessly killed his whole family,bloods everywhere in his house.The program said it's the practice of Falun Gong that lead this man to insanity.Then I thought,ok,Falun Gong really was evil and horrible,the government did the right thing for the benefit of our society. Then to my surprise I saw many information with different views about Falun Gong during my study and stay in Malaysia,some of them heavily criticized Chinese government for the crackdown saying many Falun Gong members were tortured to death by Chinese police.
I further did some research and found the criticism and condemnation on Chinese government was well-founded in general.
In one appalling report,it detailed Chinese police using various inhumane methods to torture and punish Falun Gong members and treating them like animals.I felt terrified and insecure after reading it,which made me conjure up the image of North Korea,where police,the product of authoritarian regime without nothion of democracy and human rights,would brutally beat you nonstop if you are found to be in bad relationship with the government.
Later I was in exile in Thailand due to different political opinion.In Bangkok,I got to know that a group of Falun Gong practitioners (some are Chinese refugees) put up a protest in front of the Chinese embassy in Bangkok demanding the investigation of the rape of female Falun Gong members by police back in Hebei China.

The incident is unbelievable and shocking in our modern society.If it's true,then probably many would never forgive Chinese government,who should hold the whole responsibility.
I probably would never join Falun Gong exercise,nor believe supernature,but it's the basic right for people to have the freedom of expressing and excercising different religions.
You can educate them with systematic programs,you can criticize Falun Gong with official statements,you can even ban Falun Gong with the passing of law;But,using torture and forcefully sending them to labour camps in order to get rid of their belief is absolutely against humanity,if not stupid.
With the economy making enviable progress which increasingly demands a correspondently matchable political system.it's the time for Chinese government to encourage people to talking about democracy without any fear instead of blocking it with intimidation and hi-tech software.(Jackson Jo,jacksonjo(@)gmail.com)
