Right Activist has been in jail for over 30 days
(Dec. 12, 2005) The right activist Huang Weizhong was arrested on Nov. 9th on his way to petition central governemnt in Beijing. He was sent to jail after police escorted him back to his home city - Putian, Fujian Province.
Huang Weizhong represents 676 families to petition governments (local and higher level) for the too-low compensation for the lands used by government.

Huang Weizhong was detained for 15 days for the reason "disurbing social stability". On Nov. 25, when he should be released, he got another 30 days punishment.
On the same day, Huang Weizhong's elder son - Huang Jiebin was arrested and interrogated for 24 hours. When Huang Jiebin was released on Nov. 26, police went to high school arrested Huang Weizhong's younger son - Huang Chaoping, and interrogated him for about 8 hours. The reason given was "Suspicious of disturbing social stability". Huang Chaoping is only a first year high school student, well below age 18.

By Dec. 12, he has been in jail for more than 30 days, but his family has never been allowed to meet him once. His friend told Boxun that they do not have hope to see his release on Dec. 26.
