Boxun Commented about Mr. Gao Qiang's Criticism

On Nov. 30, Minister Mr. Gao Xiang from Public Health of China claimed that Boxun created rumors about bird flu "on purpose". Boxun commented on his claim.

In the view of Boxun chief editor, rumors in China can spread and take effect, mainly because China has tight censorship in media. If Boxun's reporters could visit and interview people freely, then Boxun will not publish any unconfirmed news. Boxun is not creating "rumors on purpose", but is trying to reveal some unconfirmed information that might be true. It is a positive contribution to society if the bad news (rumors) can be found earlier.
Boxun puts reminding notes for news that we cannot confirm. We will continue to do so, at the same time we will try our best to improve the quality of our contents.
