Shenzhen May Have 'Streptococcosis Suis' Victims Dead
(Aug. 16, 2005)Since August 8, the official news said that there were no new "Streptococcosis Suis" infections in Sichuan for six days, thus the government would not release any news further. In its last report, there were more than 10 patients in "intensive care" situation, according to the death rate happened before, there should be more deaths, but there is no more report at all since then.

NanfangDushi reported on August 14: the government removed all porks from markets in Nanshan Destrict of Shenzhen City. "Emergent Warning" (dated August 12) was posted on walls of residence area, it asked people send porks to governmental department, and people should not eat those porks. Those who have eaten porks should register with residential apartment office. (boxun.com)
Reporters from this newspaper said they did not get answer about the reason of "call back".
Government even sent employees to check each family by knocking the door.

Anonymous source said that Pork Factory in Shenzhen have employees infected and five dead.
It said that the factory purchased porks claimed from Henan, but actually from Sichuan.
The employees showed symptoms from August 11. Five dead on August 12, Xu Dongping, Wang Weiguo and Wang Lianjun are among the five. There is no information about the others of infected. The hospital called the disease as "septicimia".
