(Aug. 08, 2005 BJ time) There is no new information about Sichuan "Streptococcosis Suis", but the official news said there was one person infected in Guangdong Province - was found on Aug.6, reported on Aug. 8. The anonymous source said ShenYang (XinMin) has people affected too. Boxun volunteer reporter - Lu Shishen sent one report today, it shows the disease is not under control, there are at least 200 deaths in Sichuan. The main reason to cover the truth is that it will stop people eating porks from Sichuan, the economic impact on about 100 million farmers in this provice would cause social unstability. But people have stopped purchasing porks from Sichuan, including Hong Kong and people in Sichuan. According to Lu, the disease is dangerous. One indication is: last year, officials showed chicken was safe by eating chichen themselves in a wave of disease carried by chicken.
