High School Senior was Denied by University Because of a Scar on Her Face

According to a report by Chongqing Morning, Xu Hong, 19 year old, was denied by a medical school in Sichuan because of a scar on her face. Her national exam's score is 559 that is above the admission line for first tier universities.
Xu Hong is from a poor village, her face was burned by heating stove when she was one year old. The burning was not treated well because of poverty. Xu Hong is the only hope for the family, her 28 year-old brother works on construction site and is not married. He needs to earn the tuition and living expenses for Xu Hong's advanced education, but Xu Hong cannot get admission because of her scar. (boxun.com)

This is not the single case. Some high school seniors are denied by universites because of their appearance such as too short.
