Bird death in Guangzhou: caused by human abuse?
(July 27, 2005) On July 26th (BJ time), Guangzhou government concluded the death of a few hundred birds (Egrets) in TianHu Park was caused by mis-treatment of residence.
It said that those birds were newly released, they were victims of capturing. It did not explain why there were dead birds on lake (as shown in local TV program).
According to the official news today (July 27, BJ time), the Epedemic Prevention Department has tested the water from the lake and dead birds, it concluded that there is no bird flu virus.
