On Dec. 16, 2003, Boxun first reported Huang Jinqiu (Pen name:Qing Shuijun, Huang Jin) was arrested on
Sept. 13 in Lian Yungang. After that, a few Boxun readers wrote articles to show concerns about Huang Jinqiu's
status. In last week, after Boxun reader Xiao Xi wrote another article to question why the world is so
quiet since Huang Jinqiu's arrest. His/her article caused many discussions.

Zhou Yutian, who is living in Thailand and has a China nationality, sponsored a petition
in Boxun and through
email. He asked readers to sign the petition for Huang Jinqiu.
Huang Jinqiu was born in Shangdong Province in 1974. He attended a Chemistry
College, then studied
in a writer's class of Lu Xun Literature Institute - a famous school to train writers. After graduation, he became
an editor of a magazine in Shangdong at age 18.
Huang Jinqiu's writings were well recognized. At age 20, his first book was published.

Huang Jinqiu then went to Guangdong Province and worked as a journalist and editor for newpaper
and magazines. The famous newspaper he worked for was YangCheng WanBao.
In 2000, he left China and studied Journalism in "Central Academy Of Art" in Malaysia with scholarship.
During study and after graduation, Huang Jinqiu worked for local Chinese newspapers and taught Chinese.
At the same time, he got a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a British institute.
From 2000, Huang Jinqiu started to work for Boxun as one of the volunteers. In addition to publishing news,
he managed two collections of his articles. One is under his real name -
Huang Jin articles are non-political. Some are interviews with singers. The other is under pen
name - Qing Shuijun, this collection is more political.
Under this pen name is for security. This has been confidential until late 2003.
In 2001, Huang Jinqiu's articles had caught the attention of China government. In one of his email
message to a friend, he mentioned that his parents were visited by secret police in early 2001.
They asked what Huang Jinqiu's address and what he was doing. And warned his parents "he should study,
do not make trouble".
In Jan. 2003, Huang Jinqiu anounced to found a party - China Patriot
Democracy Party (CPDP) through Boxun News. This new party caught many attentions.
Huang Jinqiu went back to China in August in secret. From August 15, 2003, he was followed
by secret police in Yunan Province. Then he went to Sichuan and Zhe Jiang, Shanghai.
He continued to publish articles in his journey at Boxun News Network. In his articles,
he discribed how to interact with secret police in detail.
Huang Jinqiu visited his parents in early Sept. 2003. He published his last article on Sept. 10, 2003.
He was arrested on Sept 13, 2003 in Lianyun Gang, Jiangsu Province. His family did not
receive notice from government till Jan. 2003. The arrest can be considered as kidnapping.
