China is monitoring Internet users more closely

(Aug. 07, 2003) China is implementing a big Internet monitoring system. With the new system, Internet users must buy a card that will record user's name and ID #. When users browse the internet at Internet Bar, all activities will be monitored by Ministry of Public Security, including who visited which websites, what the user types, and which PC the user is using.
This new system has been confirmed by at least two reports from official newspapers.
